Yep, Guy, I agree….. and what would you call WCC’s 2005 interest- free $10 million loan and free leasehold rights over publicly-owned land .. (let alone the recent bail-out of about $2.1 million to Zealandia) ? I would call it
massive financial support.
Have a read of the recent “Review of Zealandia”..(you can download it from Zealandia’s website).
Perhaps there’s a few folk associated with Zealandia who haven’t got a clue about running a business model, and even fewer clues about the responsibilities associated with public money.

Well, Maggie, might that not be just because the Zoo is massively financially supported by the Council ?

This puts paid to Zealandia’s claim that its visitor numbers were down because of the financial downturn.. Seems that the Zoo offers much better value for its entry fee than Zealandia does.
