Swimmers at Lyall Bay have been given the all clear after water quality test results came back today. Pollution warning signs were removed after laboratory tests found the water at Lyall Bay was within Ministry of Environment marine standards.

But the Wellington City Council is urging people to stay clear of the water at Shark Bay, on the eastern side of Evans Bay, and Owhiro Bay for another 24 hours after water sample testing returned contamination levels above Ministry of Environment recommended levels. Read more »

A 14 year old boy was struck by a vehicle on Waiwhetu Road in Lower Hutt at about 4.30 yesterday afternoon.

At around 7 am this morning, there was a fatal car crash in Putere Road, Raupunga, Wairoa. A 17 year old female lost her life as a result of the collision. Police are carrying out investigations in relation to the crash. Read more »
