Hutt Winter Festival ends with a blast

Press Release – Hutt Winter Festival
We’re having a Big Winter Blast to end our first Hutt Winter Festival, bringing the whole Hutt whānau together in celebration of creativity and community, 1-5pm Sunday 23 July at the Walter Nash Centre in Taita.

This family friendly free event features wild creatures, music, dance, funky photobooth and storytelling – also local community groups will provide delicious food at an affordable price.

‘ I can’t wait to see the colourful bursts of creative local energy shared with the people of the Hutt during the Hutt Winter Festival. There are so many artists and groups involved, and I am especially excited about bringing it ALL together for this Big Winter Blast finale!’ – Jo Randerson, Barbarian Productions – Hutt Winter Festival Artistic Director.

Stage performances by local groups will include the Mayur Dance Academy, Arohanui Strings, Selina Alesana Alefosio and dancers, and more.

Experience the Wild Arrivals – a parade of huge hand-made creatures made by local communities such as Waiwhetu Marae, Wainuiomata Intermediate and Wainuiomata Brownies.

And get your body warmed up with a massive choreographed dance routine, led by Malia Johnston (WOW Artistic Director, Footnote Dance).

Join us and get together to fire up your creative spirit at this fun and interactive family event.
