Homegrown back on the waterfront – 45 acts on 5 stages

Press Release – Homegrown music festival
Jim Beam Homegrown – Kiwi music’s biggest party – is taking over the Wellington Waterfront on Saturday with 45 acts spread over 5 stages.

On the Jim Beam Dub and Roots Stage: a huge double act from Shapeshifter and Fat Freddy’s Drop. Add to that, a ‘take no prisoners’ set from the mighty Kora, a feast of Reggae from Katchafire, the educated beats of DJ Sir-Vere plus four more bands and this stage is a festival in its own right!

A revamped festival layout has allowed for the addition of the new ‘City Stage’. Set under the Pohutakawas next to the harbour, the kick-back vibe will be perfect for Kiwi icons Dave Dobbyn, Che Fu & the Kratez, Anika Moa, Hollie Smith, Aaradhna and four more big names.

The hottest rock act in the country, Devilskin, will be finishing off a huge 10 hours of rock on the Jim Beam Rock Stage. Elemeno-P will also be back with the promise of new songs. Joining them will be I Am Giant, The Feelers and up and comers; Skinny Hobos as well as three heavier acts – an epic day in the pit for rock fans.

The new incarnation of the Lab Stage brings a wall to wall line-up where David Dallas headlines alongside Stan Walker, Kings, Sachi, Theia and break-through artist Mitch James.

The Electronic Stage boasts two world class drum and bass acts with State of Mind ft. MC Woody and Truth, who are making their Homegrown debut. Cymbol and Chores will get the tent heaving before Aroha and MC Tali bring their trade-mark set just as the sun goes down.

The 11th incarnation of Jim Beam Homegrown is sure to sell out again. For more information on the line-up:

What a shame it’s sponsored by alcohol .
Whats the deal on this one ? Do WCC ratepayers get any of the sold out $130 per ticket for Jim Beam privately using the park and waterfront for a day?
