PHOTOS: Sam Neill at vice-regal launch of Film Heritage Trust

Fresh from his appearance in Thor, Sam Neill was among the guests at Government House in Wellington this week for the launch of the Film Heritage Trust.

In the photo above, he’s with Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy. Next to them is Molly O’Shea, granddaughter of pioneer Wellington film-maker John O’Shea, and her godmother Ginette McDonald.

And here he is with Whetu Fala, a board member on the new Trust, which aims to save and restore films from New Zealand production of past decades.

Among the other guests were producers Chris Hampson (left) and Vincent Burke, with Sir David Gascoigne, who chairs the new trust and is a former chair of the New Zealand Film Commission.

Here’s the vice-regal couple with board members of the Trust, who include producer John Barnett, at left. At the back is outgoing Film Commission chief executive Dave Gibson, who leaves his post at the end of the year.
