Brews, food and tunes for beer festival at the Basin Reserve

Press Release – Beers at the Basin
A bumper crowd of over 5,000 people is expected at Wellington’s Basin Reserve this Saturday for the inaugural Beers at the Basin festival.

Tickets to the 9 December event are on track to sell out this week, and extra infrastructure is being brought in to ensure enough facilities are in place for the patrons.

Featuring over 80 different beer and cider options from an extensive selection of breweries from around New Zealand, accompanied by 20 wine varietals and food menus capped at $8 pricing from 14 quality food vendors, the festival is set to start things off in style.

Organisers Arada Promotions, who also run the Wellington Wine & Food Festival hope that the success of the first festival will be a sign of things to come.

“Obviously based on the level of interest we’ve had there is a demand for the event, so if things go well on Saturday and we get a great day of weather we’re definitely hoping to be back bigger and better in 2018” says Damien Hochberg of Arada Promotions.

To top off a quality festival line-up, there will be stage headlined by local favourites The Phoenix Foundation, accompanied by Miles Calder and the Rumours, Estere, Swamp Thing, and Tunes of I.

A sunny day is currently forecast for Saturday 9 December, but in the event of postponement being necessary, Beers at the Basin will run on Sunday 10 December.
