Police seek witnesses to Aro Valley party after body found in car

Wellington Police continue to investigate the unexplained death of 21-year-old Zenith Campbell, who preferred to be known as Zena. She was located in a vehicle in Epuni Street at around midday on Sunday.

A post mortem has been completed and a scene examination continues in Devon Street.

A large team of Police investigators are speaking to a number of persons from a party that Zena attended in Devon Street before walking to a parked vehicle where she was found, in Epuni Street.

A number of Police staff will be completing an area canvas with residents in the Aro Valley area over the next few days.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses who saw or heard any activity around Epuni Street and Devon Street between 3am and midday on Sunday.

Police would also like to hear from anyone who attended the party prior to Zena leaving the address at around 3am.

Wellington Police are investigating the unexplained death of 21-year-old Zenith Campbell (who preferred to be known as Zena). Zena, 21, was located in a car in Aro Valley at around midday on Sunday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Warwick McKee, Wellington CIB, says a post mortem will be completed to determine exactly how Zena died.

“We’re currently conducting an examination of the car Zena was found in, as well as a scene examination at an address in Aro Valley.”

“We know that Zena was at a party at a house in Devon Street on Saturday night, and left the house at around 3am with an associate. We would like to hear from anyone who was at that party prior to that time.”
