Hutt Hospital in lockdown after threat, man arrested and charged

Police arrested a 35-year-old Upper Hutt man this morning in relation to a lockdown at Hutt Hospital on Tuesday evening.

The hospital was locked down for a short time as a precautionary measure while Police investigated an alleged assault and potential threat towards a patient.

The man is in Police custody and will appear in the Lower Hutt District Court today on various charges including breach of bail.
