Unidentified man in critical condition in hospital; fell from a moving Mercedes

Police are appealing for any sightings of a black Mercedes, registration GPW495, after a man was critically injured in Porirua yesterday.

The man was injured exiting a moving vehicle on Warspite Avenue, Porirua at about 4pm.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the Mercedes or any other car driving erratically near Waitangirua Mall.

One person is in custody in relation to the incident and will appear at Wellington District Court today on charges of driving while disqualified and supply of methamphetamine.

Wellington Police are seeking the public’s help identifying a man who is in hospital in a critical condition after an incident in Porirua this afternoon.

Just after 4pm, Police and other emergency services were called to Warspite Avenue, where a man had exited a car.

He was taken to Wellington Hospital in a critical condition.

The man’s identity remains unknown, and Police are seeking any information from the public which may help identify him.

He is Maori or Polynesian, in his mid-30s, of a large/solid build, around 185cm (6 foot) tall, and with short black hair cut to about a #2 or #3 length.

He has a small amount of facial hair on his chin.

Police are working to establish the sequence of events which led to the man being hospitalised, and are appealing to the public for help.
