News from Sustainability Trust
At the Sustainability Trust, we know that there are thousands of people in Wellington who care about climate change and living more sustainable and ethical lives. They come in to our EcoShop, they send us emails, phone us, and we often cross paths through our programmes and workshops. So with the thought that a picture is worth a thousand words, we are launching a photo competition to showcase Wellingtonians living their best sustainable lives. The hope is that when visitors come in to our EcoCentre, they will see one of the photos and get inspired.

We want to see pictures of you living your best sustainable life. Take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footprints is a photo competition for you to showcase what it means to be green. And you could win one of six $150 Prezzy cards.

Blinds. Not Our Future

This category is all about curtains. Curtains are a part of what we do. We upcycle curtains and turn them into custom made, quality, lined, heat traps for families that need them.

We acknowledge that curtains don’t always have a commonplace in every home. So we’re opening this up to cover more than curtains and it includes things like draft stoppers and double glazing. Basically, anything that shows how you keep the warmth in and the cold out. Here are some ideas to get you started….

Where the Wilderkids Are

You’ve probably read the book or seen the movie – Where the Wild Things Are – but have you heard of Where the Widerkids Are? Our guess is maybe not.

Where the Wilderkids is based on our outdoor, adventure-based school holiday programme for kids aged 5 to 12. Wilderkids are experts of the forest, flora and fauna of Matairangi (Mount Victoria). We want to see pictures of the curious minds in your household exploring nature.
