Off-peak bus disruptions during union agm

Press Release – Greater Wellington Regional Council
Wellington off-peak bus customers will face disruptions to their travel today from 9:30am to 3pm as some NZ Bus drivers head to the Tramways Union Annual General Meeting.

Barbara Donaldson, Chair of Greater Wellington Regional Council’s Sustainable Transport Committee, says the AGM will not affect school services but will impact customers using off- peak services.

“We will keep customers updated through our website, app and social media channels, as well as public information in the press and radio”.

Customers can use Metlink’s website to check for reduced services, or call our Metlink team on 0800 801 700.

“We regret the impact the AGM has on customers,” adds Cr Donaldson.

“We regret the impact the AGM has on customers,” adds Cr Donaldson.

No sign of any regret from Cr. Donaldson for the mess she and GWRC have inflicted on the public transport users of Wellington or our bus drivers who have suffered pay cuts, poor work conditions and the brunt of public backlash following the disastrous changes of July 2018.

Barbara please comment on the rest of the bus debacle too – the part that is under the committee you chair for the Regional Council. It’s clear it’s not working and you have received overwhelming feedback about what’s wrong. It’s time to stand up and communicate about how you intend to sort it out. The quality of a person’s leadership shows (or doesn’t) in these difficult moments.

Barbara, why no response to Ruth?
