VUW receives maximum rating

News from VUW
Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington has become one of only 12 universities in the world to receive a maximum 5 Stars Plus in the influential QS Stars Rating System.

Distinct from the QS World University Rankings, QS Stars rate universities’ performance against set criteria rather than ranking them relative to each other. Nearly 220 universities have undergone a QS Stars audit, including ones in Australia and the United Kingdom.

The University received 901 out of a possible 1,000 points across eight audited categories—including maximum points for the Employability and Arts & Culture categories.

Categories were assessed according to more than 30 indicators, with the University receiving maximum points for 24 indicators:

Overall student satisfaction, Satisfaction with teaching and Further study (Teaching category)
Employer reputation, Graduate employment rate and Careers service support (Employability category)
Academic reputation and Papers per faculty (Research category)
Institutional research collaborations, International faculty, International students, Religious facilities and International diversity (Internationalisation category)
IT infrastructure, Library facilities, Medical facilities and Student societies (Facilities category)
Arts and culture facilities, Concerts, events and exhibitions, Artistic and cultural accolades, and Community art and cultural investment (Arts & Culture category)
Scholarships and bursaries, Disabled access and Low-income outreach (Inclusiveness category).

Vice-Chancellor Professor Grant Guilford says the results are a good reflection of the University’s many strengths.
