Media release – Fluoridation-free New Zealand
A group of concerned Kapiti residents have chosen to start a petition to ask the Kapiti District Council to stop the fluoridation of Raumati, Paraparaumu and Waikanae.
“Fluoridation has got to stop. It is harmful to health and a violation of human rights” says Daniela D-Ronberg, spokesperson for the newly-formed Kapiti Fluoridation-free Campaign
“I am particularly worried that we are still allowing this when the American Health Authorities are advising that babies are getting too much fluoride through the normal tap water when making up baby formula. Fluoride cannot be boiled out.” says Daniela D-Ronberg The last two studies[1][2] in New Zealand that looked at dental fluorosis (the first outward sign of fluoride poisoning) showed that 30% of children in fluoridated areas had some form of dental fluorosis as compared with only 15% in non-fluoridated areas.
This petition has come as a result of Tuesday’s film night where residents were able to watch two half hour videos on fluoridation. These videos consisted of an interview with an award winning BBC journalist and an overview of fluoridation by professionals such as doctors, dentists and scientists from around the world.
Daniela D-Ronberg says “All of continental Europe does not allow water fluoridation. Anyone supporting fluoridation needs to watch these two videos before they can consider themselves to be making an informed decision. Otherwise they are coming from a position of ignorance.”
The group intend to circulate both an electronic and a paper-based petition over the next few months which they will present to Council at the end of the year.
Why can’t they be satisfied to give fluoride tablets to anyone who wants them and leave everyone else alone. It would be far cheaper.
Those promoting fluoridation simply refuse to read the current research showing it is ineffective and dangerous to health. Go to (www.fluoridealert.org) .and read several articles.
Read the letter from Dr. Hardy Limeback ( DDS, PhD Biochemistry) — Head, Preventive Dentistry, University of Toronto entitled “Why I am now officially opposed to adding fluoride to drinking water.” He was the principal research advisor to the Canadian Dental Association for over 10 years in promoting fluoridation. His letter is an apology to other dentists and the public.

Increased risk of bone cancer — 13 studies
Lead, arsenic, radium contaminants causing toxic water — 10 studies
Link with fluoride and cancer — 12
Fluoride causes birth defects — 5
Fluoride affects the immune systems — 12
Fluoride is neurotoxic (brain, nerves, lowering IQ) — 11
Notice to dentists who are promoting water fluoridation: You have NO authority outside the oral cavity. Cease and desist. I understand why you promote it and it is high time others know also: Dental fluorosis is only caused by fluoride. Over 1/3 of Americans in fluoridated areas have dental fluorosis. Many more restorative measures are necessary, such as crowns, laminates,bleaching, bonding, braces, and bridges. For the Dental Associations, this condition is a real money-maker, because cosmetic dentistry is far more lucrative than cavity repair. In addition, there is an abundance of evidence indicating that fluoride causes a delay in the normal shedding of the “baby” teeth, and their replacement by permanent teeth. This delay has been shown to increase the number of children with malpositioned teeth. Again, braces are far more expensive than fillings. (Note: In a 1972 report by the American Dental Association, it is stated that dentists make 17% more profit in fluoridated areas as opposed to non-fluoridated areas.) (Douglas et al., “Impact of water fluoridation on dental practices and dental manpower”, Journal of the American Dental Association; 84:355-67, 1972) Mandating fluoridation without regard to established risk factors such as age, kidney function, weight, physical condition, water consumption, total fluoride intake, and mitigating dietary calcium is medical negligence.

If they did that, where would big industries dump their hydrofluorosilicic acid (Grade 7 poison) which costs them a fortune to dispose of safely and legally in the environment? At the moment we filter it for them for free. And what about the kick-backs the gov and ADA would miss out on? And what about the pharmaceutical industries? Many of their miracle drugs wouldn’t be needed anymore!
No, they can’t halt fluoridation, too many people would be out of business – and it’s all about the generated sickness ‘money’ NOT dental health!!! Humans actually being happy to swallow poison on a daily basis and feed it to their babies and children for all their lives has got to be the biggest joke of the century.
