Gathering in Wellington today, the newly elected caucuses of three political parties. The biggest group (above) was all the Labour MPs who will make up the new government.
The National caucus with 35 MPs was a much smaller group than before the election when there were 54 MPs. RNZ quoted party leader Judith Collins as saying after the caucus had met: “We are determined to be the best opposition ever. I’m really positive about our way forward … I particularly relish the opportunity to hold the government to account.”
And there were more Green MPs than ever – now ten of them.
