Cocktail quiz for charity, at the Fringe

News from Numbskull
Numbskull, a new cocktail quiz show, will premiere at the 2021 New Zealand Fringe Festival in Wellington from March 10-13th at 7:30pm.

This vivacious show will feature creators from across the Fringe programme and puts them in a head to head competition of wits as they answer trivia questions about iconic cocktails from around the world and in pop culture.

Contestants will put their mixology skills to the test as they attempt to prepare these drinks without a recipe.

The show will take place at Valhalla, 154 Vivian Street. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased through the fringe website or with cash at the door.

Contestants have been preparing for the competition by selecting a charity to represent in the competition.

Wellington theatre practitioner and opening night contestant Austin Harrison has this to say:”Numbskull is going to beone of the game show experiences of the year! I’m so excited to be able to perform asa part of this exciting new concept, al lwhile raising money for some incredible charities!!”

Numbskull creator and host Emily K Brown creates an electric and enticing atmosphere while raising money for a variety of excellent causes. For each night, there will be donations collected at the door as well as at the bar. These donations will then be given to the charity represented by the winning team.

“We are so thrilled to be a part of the largest program in the history of New Zealand Fringe!”says Brown,“I came up with the idea for this beautiful and chaotic show in the middle of lockdown. I am so unbelievably thankful to have the opportunity to share it with people face to face. It is important that we keep how fortunate we are here in NZ in perspective. This is not the case for so many friends and family back home and others around the world. This is such a crucial time for the arts and I am thrilled to see how local creators have stepped up.”

The New Zealand Fringe Festival will run from February 26th- March 20th, featuring a variety of shows throughout Wellington. Visit the Fringe website for more info and to get tickets
