Three masked men with knives steal cash from Cannons Creek takeaway shop

Porirua Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at the Venus Chinese Takeaway Shop in Cannons Creek.

Detective Sarah Waugh of the Porirua CIB says just before 9pm on Sunday night, three offenders with their faces concealed, entered the Venus Chinese Takeaway shop on Astrolabe Street, armed with knives.

“The three offenders threatened the shop owner with the knives and stole a small amount of cash, leaving the owners shaken but unhurt.”

Detective Waugh says the trio was wearing dark-coloured clothing and balaclavas, covering their faces.

“We are urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Astrolabe Street on Sunday night, between 8:30pm and 9:30pm who may have seen anyone or anything suspicious to contact us as soon as possible.”
