Youth development organisation Youthline is pleased to be the recipient charity of the Trade Me auction for the Nissan Laurel which was crushed under the Vehicle Confiscation and Seizure Bill.

Lower Hutt Scrap Metal Recyclers Macaulay Metals decided to put the now ‘streamlined’ car up for auction so that the car’s legacy could be remembered through a good deed.

“We thought it would be a good idea to make something positive of the situation and felt Youthline was a fitting charity as they support and develop young people – we know any money raised will be put to good use,” says Managing Director of Macaulay Metals, Jeff Harris

Youthline CEO Stephen Bell says he hopes the auction will be a reminder to young people that good things can come from what might otherwise be ‘crushing’ experiences.

Any proceeds raised will be put towards running our helpline and free txt service,” he adds.

The auction has started and will close on July 9th at 9am.
