Two men charged with assault after fight at Wainuiomata service station

Hutt Valley Police have charged two men with common assault after a late night fight in Wainuiomata over the weekend. The 30-year-old and 28-year-old will appear in Lower Hutt District Court today.

Both men came forward and contacted Police last night.

The 27-year-old male victim remains in a serious but stable condition in Wellington Hospital.

Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who may have saw what happened to come forward. Anyone with information should contact Hutt Valley Police on (04) 560 2600 or provide information anonymously through Crimestoppers by phoning 0800 555 111.

News from NZ Police – November 11
Police are appealing for witnesses to an early-morning Wainuiomata assault which has left a man in critical condition. Just after midnight, two men became involved in a fight with another party in a blue four-door sedan vehicle outside the Caltex Service Station on The Strand in Wainuiomata.

The two men exited the vehicle and began fighting with two other men.

After the incident the vehicle was driven away from the service station at high speed.

A 27-year-old male victim has been left with serious injuries and has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Police want to hear from anyone who was at the service station or who may have been in the area and witnessed what happened.
