Friend or little helper? Its been 6 long years since Nicky Hager’s book was published, a book based largely on material the author claims was given to him by disaffected senior National Party insiders at loggerheads with Don Brash and his supporters. Richard Long was the chief of staff that Don Brash dumped immediately after losing the 2005 Election in the wake of the initial spray of internal emails and material that Brash claimed was stolen or accessed without proper authority. If I correctly recall, Brash appointed Wayne Eagleson in Long’s place, who continues as chief of staff under John Key. Isn’t it about time Scoop told us who was feeding Hager and the political news media the leaked/stolen information? Nobody in Wellington believes that you don’t know the sources.
