Wellington Airport reopens after fog, Air NZ resumes flights, adds extra services

News from Air NZ
Air New Zealand has resumed flights into and out of Wellington this morning and will continue to operate scheduled services and some additional services, as the weather conditions permit.

Passengers affected by yesterday’s weather disruption at Wellington Airport are advised to call the Air New Zealand contact centre for further information.

Passengers booked to travel into or out of Wellington today are advised to check the flight arrivals and departure information on the Air New Zealand website for up to date information.

Wellington.Scoop – December 23
Wellington Airport has been closed tonight because of the fog which arrived in the late afternoon. The airport website didn’t announce the closure, but it showed that all this evening’s arrivals were cancelled.

Almost all departures were listed as cancelled as well, with passengers asked to call an 0800 helpline number to make new bookings.

A flight from Auckland due at 10pm tonight is listed as “passengers arriving by bus from Palmerston North.” So some travellers will be getting through, after an unexpected two hour road trip.
