Happy Christmas, a perfect Wellington day

8am – harbour seen from Brooklyn
The forecasts were correct. Wellington had a perfect Christmas Day. With a temperature of 24 and rising to 28 in the late afternoon.

10.30am – 21 degrees

1pm – 23 degrees

5.30pm – it’s about to reach 28 degrees.

Though Wellington enjoyed its 28+ temperatures, the Hutt Valley beaten us – 30 degrees at 2pm. And 31 at 4pm. Amazing …

And we shouldn’t complain. In Buenos Aires today, the temperature reached 50 degrees – the hottest summer day ever recorded in that city.

We were at Normandale in the Valley and it sure was hot! not a breath of wind, tuis galore and the view over Petone to the heads was quite spectacular. the sunset was the end to a perfect day and going home the almost full moon just completed it.

Thank you Lindsay for your articles keeping your readers up with the play. a Happy New Year to you and your team.

On Boxing Day we were out at Waikanae, where the locals sadly showed us quiet neighbourhoods that will be destroyed by the Kapiti Expressway, including flyovers, onramps and offramps, if Steven Joyce’s project gets final approval.
