At 7.15 last night, the new Buckle Street detour (and the new traffic lights for pedestrians) had caused a back-up of traffic past MacDonald’s in Adelaide Road, at a time when traffic has usually flowed freely. The NZTA’s planning abilities seem to have been stretched. Or are their best talents concentrating on finalising the design for the tunnel – with its deadline – under the memorial park?
