Queens Drive closed after teenager threatens to jump from parking building

Police in the Hutt Valley closed a portion of Queens Drive in Lower Hutt yesterday afternoon after a 16 year old woman was threatening to jump from a parking building.

Due to fast actions from a member of the public and attending constables, the situation was resolved without incident.

Senior Sergeant Pat Thomas from the Hutt Valley Police would like to thank members of the public who came to the young lady’s assistance. It is good to know that members of the public are prepared to go out of their way for a person they don’t know to ensure they get the help they need.
