Press Release – Time Bank
The Wellington Timebank T-shirt Design Competition is now open for submissions.
The Wellington Timebank is drawing on local creativity to express our enthusiasm for building positive and resourceful communities in an open design contest for Timebank T-shirts.
This is a great opportunity for local artists to creatively express their ideas of what they want their communities to look like. With the theme, Our Place: My Dream, the competition is open to anyone. The submissions will be put to public vote and the winning designs will be made into t-shirts that will be sold to raise much needed funds for the Wellington Timebank.
“The aim of the competition is to get people thinking about the kind of place that they want to live. The more we make our dreams for our place visible, the more likely they are to become a reality.” says Hannah Mackintosh, Coordinator of the Timebank.
The theme for the t-shirt design competition is ‘Our Place: My Dream’. We are calling on artists to consider the following questions in their designs: Where do you see our community going? How will it get there? Envision a place where you would belong.
“Timebanking is about harnessing the wealth within our communities and I’m incredibly excited to see the creativity that comes out of this competition.” Marit Olson, T-shirt Design Project Manager.
Submissions are due by September 10th. They must include the timebank logo and be set out on the t-shirt template provided.
The Wellington Time Bank is based out of the Newtown Community Centre. You can contact Marit Olson, Project Manager, on 027 484 6844 or firstname.lastname@example.org or Hannah Mackintosh, Wellington Timebank Coordinator, on email@example.com or 04 920 6708.
