With over 1500 entries from 43 countries, New Zealand having three spots in the top ten in “an amazing feat” says Stephen Gacsal, Registrar of the NZ Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). “We hear stories daily about the work personal trainers do in improving the lives of everyday kiwis, and having New Zealanders represented so well in these awards is a testament to all trainers in New Zealand, and their high standards.”
“All the three kiwi trainers are truly world class, having won national awards both inside and outside the fitness industry. Also, all the trainers are registered with REPs, the exercise professionals registration body in New Zealand, which is an essential element of choosing any trainer, be it for an award, or just when choosing one to use yourself” says Gacsal.
The Global PT search was a compressive search around the world for the very best trainers, and involved over 50 counties, and included judges from around the globe, including Richard Beddie, whose day job is CE of Fitness New Zealand, and is also chair of the International Confederation of Register for Exercise Professionals (ICREPs).
