Hutt Valley Police have released details of the aggravated burglary of a house in Frederick Street, Wainuiomata, last Thursday afternoon. They are seeking witnesses.
On Thursday at about 2:30pm two disguised men entered the property, armed with a pistol and a knife, and demanded charity money from the sole occupant.
During the incident, the occupant suffered a cut to his arm and required medical treatment.
One of the offenders is described as Maori, aged in his late teens, approximately 5 foot 2 tall, and of skinny build. He was wearing a blue coloured jacket with pockets on the front over a black hoodie, and blue jeans.
The second offender is described as being Polynesian, aged in his late teens, 6 foot 3 tall, of heavy build. He was wearing a plain black hoodie and baggy blue jeans.
Both offenders were wearing red bandanas to disguise their identity.
This incident has left the occupant of the address shaken and distressed.
