Press Release – Porirua City Council
The IceWorld ice rink is attracting crowds to Porirua’s city centre and the Council is keen to make sure that local families who are feeling the pinch also get a chance to get on the ice.
Local residents are being offered a 50% discount for two days only on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 October.
“The IceWorld rink is proving very popular with many Porirua residents and visitors to the city,” says Moira Lawler, General Manager Strategy and Planning.
“However, Porirua is a city of young families and this is the first time an ice rink has come to the city. This is a great family experience and we want to make sure nobody misses out. So the Council, with the help of the Mana Community Grants Foundation, is providing this subsidy for a limited time which we hope will enable all our locals to come have some fun.”
Simply bring evidence of your residency, such as a recent power bill that shows your address, then you will be eligible for the 50% discount on the standard charge.
The discounted price will be: Children $7.50, Adults $10 and Families (two adults/two children or one adult/three children) $25.
The offer is limited to 15 and 16 October only, and the space available on the ice at any one time.
The rink is open from 10am – 10pm daily.
