Deliberately-lit fire at Karori bus depot destroys five Go Wellington buses

A fire at the Karori bus depot destroyed five buses early this morning.

The Fire Service were called to the Go Wellington Bus Depot in Ranelagh Street at 3am.

The fire totally destroyed five buses of the 21 that were parked in the depot.

Police say they believe the fire was deliberately lit, as the buses were not used over the weekend.

If anyone saw anyone acting suspiciously near the bus depot late last night or early this morning, they are asked to contact Wellington Police on 381 2000.
