Security guards attacked and robbed by three men at Queensgate

News from NZ Police
Two security guards were robbed and assaulted while returning to a money van at Queensgate Mall in Lower Hutt yesterday afternoon.

At around 4.15pm, the security guards were leaving the mall on Bloomfield Terrace when three armed men in balaclavas attacked them and stole the money they were transporting to the van.

The three men then got into a stolen red Honda Odyssey, registration CAK757, and fled. This vehicle was found 15 minutes later at a nearby address and had been abandoned.

Senior Sergeant Steve Braybook says “Police would like to hear from anyone who saw this incident or anyone acting suspiciously in the area”.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who saw these men arrive or flee in the red Honda Odyssey”.
