A street parade to celebrate Chinese new year processed from Tennyson Street through Courtenay Place to the Michael Fowler Centre this afternoon.
It’s the year of the horse, and the mayor participated accordingly.
An Asian market was held all day in the Michael Fowler Centre. On stage, there was a programme of cultural entertainment by community groups. The schedule included lion dancing, drumming, dumpling making and martial arts.
And in the MFC carpark, a carnival with petting ponies, a merry-go-ground, an obstacle course inflatable and activity crafts.
