Emergency services are dealing with a large crash about 1 kilometre south of Porirua on State Highway One. The crash involved six cars and a motorbike.
As a result, the motorway is completely blocked.
But there are no reports of serious injuries.
The crash was reported to police at 6.40am.
Motorists are asked to delay their travel or take alternate routes through Tawa or over the Haywards.

Six cars and one motorbike were involved in the crash. There were no serious injuries with the majority of the occupants not requiring any medical treatment.
A woman who is 6 months pregnant and the male motorcyclist have been taken to Wellington Hospital for medical checks as a precaution.
