News from NZ Police
Police have found the missing German tourist Anja Schulze safe and well in Central Otago and have passed this information on to German authorities.
Anja travelled through the North Island before boarding a ferry with a fellow traveller from Wellington to Picton on the 29th January. She then continued her travel down the South Island over the past months. She was unaware that there were concerns for her safety and that Police were looking for her.
Police thank members of the public who provided information which helped to find Anja.
News from NZ Police – 4 June
Anja Schultze arrived in New Zealand on the 7th of December. She was in regular contact with friends in Switzerland as she travelled around the East Coast of the North Island and walked the Tongariro Crossing.
On the 29th of January, Anja and a friend caught the Bluebridge ferry from Wellington to Picton. She contacted friends to tell them she was heading to Golden Bay but never arrived at her intended destination.
Her last confirmed communication was to a friend in Switzerland on the 2nd of February. She has not been heard of since.
