More building activity in Wellington – mainly alterations and addition

The third Housing and Construction Quarterly report shows that Wellington has seen an upward trend in building activity since mid-2013, with alterations and additions the most common building consent granted.

The report also shows that the Auckland and Greater Christchurch housing markets are becoming increasingly separated from the rest of New Zealand. And Canterbury continues to have the highest rents in the country, with nearly 15% annual growth.

Future editions of the New Zealand Housing and Construction Quarterly will be released in September and December.
