Man assaulted while walking up Brooklyn Hill; police seek witnesses

A man was assaulted while walking up the Brooklyn Hill on Tuesday morning.

At approximately 10.50am a couple was walking up the hill when the 58-year-old man was seriously assaulted by another man after a verbal argument.

He is now in Wellington Hospital in a serious but stable condition with head injuries.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Sears says “A number of people have come forward and are assisting Police, however, we still need to hear from anyone who witnessed this assault. Police inquiries to date have established this is an isolated incident.”
