Press Release – Wellington Zoo
Wellington Zoo’s new early childhood programme started today.
Designed for children aged 18 months – 3 years, Wild Start is exclusively available to Wellington Zoo Crew members, and utilises play-based and interactive learning sessions to help toddlers celebrate the wonder of animals.
“Wild Start is a newly developed learning programme that we’re really proud of. It’s important to connect kids with animals from an early age, and this programme is all about encouraging young children to explore the natural world around them,” said Lynn Allan, Wellington Zoo Learning Manager.
Led by Zoo Educators, each Wild Start session is unique. Activities in Term 3 include meeting and touching some of Wellington Zoo’s special contact animals, helping to prepare animal enrichment, and participating in nature-based story-telling, music and dancing.
For more information about Wild Start in Term 4, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 04 384 3692.
Wild Start runs between 9.45-10.30am every Friday during the school term.
Wild Start is exclusive to Zoo Crew members and costs just $10 per child, per session. There is no charge for their accompanying adult.
Spaces are limited and need to be pre-booked online at www.wellingtonzoo.com.
