Family violence in Newtown: police seek identical twin with missing front teeth

News from NZ Police

Wellington Police are appealing for any sightings or information about the whereabouts of Dennis Arthur Te Pania, 40, following a family violence incident at a residential address in Newtown on 24 July.

The victim required surgery for the injuries she sustained in the attack and Police wish to speak to Te Pania as soon as possible. It is believed he is actively avoiding Police with the help of gang associates and Police are seeking the public’s assistance to locate him.

Te Pania is required to arrest and is known to carry weapons so should not be approached. Members of the public should be aware he is an identical twin and that the distinguishing feature between the pair is that Dennis does not have his front teeth. He is described as Maori male of thin build and approximately 165 cms tall.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Wellington Police on (04) 381 2000. Anonymous information can also be provided to the Crimestoppers organisation on 0800 555 111.
