News release from Cr Iona Pannett
Tired of tagging, broken glass and speeding traffic around Mt Victoria? Then come to a public meeting on Saturday to discuss positive solutions to these ongoing issues.
Over the last few months, local residents have discussed these concerns informally, with the local Residents’ Association and with Mt Victoria resident, Wellington City Councillor Iona Pannett. The first step to respond to these concerns will be the public meeting with more action planned.
“It’s time to talk about how we can deal with issues around vandalism, tagging and traffic safety,” said Iona.
“As we are on the edge of the CBD, these kinds of issues will be ongoing; solutions are needed,” said Mt Vic Residents’ Association President Elaine Hampton.
Representatives of the Council will be there to answer questions from the community. Action points will be developed to address these issues on a long-term basis.
