The Transport Agency reported “significant delays” on State Highway 2 this morning after a crash in Upper Hutt.
At 8.30 it said a crash had closed the road in both directions at Moonshine Bridge. The alternative route was Fergusson Drive, where delays were expected.
At 9.45 the Wellington Free Ambulance, which had been called to the crash, said there were significant traffic delays.
At 10.30 the Transport Agency reported that the road would remain closed at Moonshine Bridge until at least early afternoon due to emergency bridge repairs.
The bridge reopened at about 1.30.
Some buses were affected by the crash.
Metlink advised that route110 due to leave Petone Station at 09:33 would not run due to the accident. The 10.03 departure was more than 30 minutes late. The 10.18 departure would be 13 minutes late.
