QC to represent Save the Basin group at flyover appeal in High Court

News from Save the Basin
The Save the Basin Campaign Inc has secured the services of Matthew Palmer QC to represent it in the High Court when the NZ Transport Agency appeals against the decision to decline resource consent for a flyover at the Basin Reserve.

“We feel very fortunate to have secured the services of a distinguished and experienced lawyer, with considerable experience of such cases, to represent us,” says Tim Jones of Save the Basin.

The date of the High Court appeal is not yet known, but there is to be a case management conference – an organisational meeting that sets the stage for the hearing of the case itself – on Monday 10 November.

Save the Basin is one of a number of groups that have announced their intention to oppose the appeal in the High Court.

There are reports that the Transport Agency expects a decision in the case by mid-2015.
