The armed offenders squad joined police to search a house in Brooklyn this morning.

The search warrant was executed at approximately 6:30am in Ohiri Road, Brooklyn.

Police were searching for Ben Imlach who was being sought for a Parole Recall Warrant.

Mr Imlach was deemed to pose a low to moderate risk but information was received that he may have access to firearms.

Accordingly, the armed offenders squad was used to ensure the safety of both attending Police and members of the local community while the search warrant was carried out.

Mr Imlach was arrested and will be transferred to Rimutaka Prison.
