Two Featherston 15-year-olds dead after stolen car crashes in Masterton

News from NZ Police
At about 2:15 this morning a Police patrol in Masterton tried to pull over the driver of a stolen Honda Civic. The vehicle failed to stop and although a pursuit was commenced it was abandoned almost immediately due to the dangerous driving of the fleeing driver through the CBD.

A short time later Police witnessed the speeding vehicle crash into a light-pole on Queen St.

All four occupants of the vehicle were teenagers and all were taken to Masterton Hospital.

Two of the occupants were seriously injured and have since died as a result of their injuries. They were 15 year olds Hoani Wiremu Korewha and Pacer Willacy-Scott, both of Featherston.

A Wellington District Serious Crash Investigator attended the scene of the crash and investigations are ongoing. The IPCA has been informed.
