Man charged with arson after incident outside Parliament

The man who was arrested yesterday after an incident at Parliament has been charged with arson.
He appeared in the Wellington District Court today. Bail was refused.

A man was taken into custody after an incident on Parliament grounds this morning.
And this afternoon police were called to a second incident near the rear of Parliament.
The area was cordoned off and there was no access to the rear of Parliament.

Police have a man in custody in relation to an incident on Parliament grounds this morning. The man has driven a vehicle onto Parliament grounds and caused concern for Parliamentary Security. Police and emergency services are in attendance. The vehicle has been cleared by Police and will be removed as soon as possible.
