Twice missing: 76-year-old woman found dead in Woodridge bush

Wellington Police and Search and Rescue have found the body of 76 year old Kebai Liu, who had been missing since Friday morning.

Her body was found the bush area of Woodridge at approximately 7:00pm this evening.

Police thank the public for their assistance during the search for Kebai.

Her death has been referred to the Coroner.

Wellington Police are seriously concerned for the wellbeing of 76-year-old Kebai Liu who has now been missing for more than two days.

Police do not believe she has any ID or money in her possession and therefore, will not be able to use public transport.

Police believe she is likely to still be in the Woodridge area.

Kebai was last seen wearing a long-sleeve blue shirt, possible denim, and blue jeans. This is an update from the last description Police released and an updated photo is attached.

She is Chinese and speaks very little English.

Immediate sightings of anyone matching the photo or this description should be reported to Police on 111. Anyone who may have information on her whereabouts may also call Wellington Police on 04 381 2000.

Wellington Police are still searching for 76-year-old Kebai Liu who has been missing since early yesterday morning.

Airport security and Police searched Wellington International Airport today after a sighting of her getting off the bus there was reported. She was not located.

Kebai was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. She is Chinese and speaks very little English. It is likely she will be on foot but may be using public transport.

Police are concerned for Kebai’s wellbeing and ask anyone who may have information on her whereabouts to call Wellington Police on 04 381 2000. Immediate possible sightings of her should be reported to Police on 111.

Police are concerned for the safety of 76-year-old Kebai Liu who has been reported missing again.

Police located Kebai on Oriental Parade around 11:50pm last night after she was reported missing yesterday morning.

She was returned to her family home in Woodridge, Wellington.

Her family discovered her missing again around 8:30am this morning and believe she may have left home sometime after 2:30am.

Kebai is Chinese and speaks very little English.

She is likely to be wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

She is also likely to be on foot but may try to use public transport.

Police ask anyone who may have seen Kebai or has information on her whereabouts to please call 111.
