Press Release – Upper Hutt City Council
Support the Hurricanes’ away game with a free live screening at Upper Hutt’s Harcourt Park as part of Parks Week.
The Upper Hutt City Council’s Activation team is excited to be hosting the screening of the Hurricanes’ away game against the Waikato Chiefs on Friday 10 March as part of Parks Week 2017.Non-travelling Hurricanes players will also be in attendance.
“The sound stage at Harcourt Park is an ideal venue for a big screening of this event. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket, and support their local Super Rugby team. There will be a range of food trucks in attendance to support this event,” says Activation Team Leader, Ellie Davidson.
Parks Week, which is managed by the New Zealand Recreation Association (NZRA) and Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA), runs from 4 – 12 March. Promoting the many benefits our parks and open spaces provide, Parks Week will see councils and other organisations, on both sides of the Tasman, running events to raise awareness of the value of parks and open spaces—a drive to get people out of their living rooms to explore, discover, and enjoy the great outdoors.
This event is being run by Upper Hutt City Council’s Activation Team with the support of The Gas Hub, the Hurricanes, and The Big Screen Company.
