Driver didn’t stop after pedestrian injured on main road in Tawa

A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a car on Main Road in Tawa at 8.40 this morning.

The pedestrian was crossing Main Road just north of Victory Crescent.

The car, believed to be a gold-coloured Daihatsu Charade, did not stop and continued driving northbound.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses, or anyone who was in the area at the time who may have dashcam footage showing the car involved. If you can help, please contact Police via 105 and quote event number P047410436.
