Change of plan for Level 2: Lions vs Canterbury open for fans at the Stadium – with masks

NPC returns to Sky Stadium on Friday, with the Wellington Lions taking on Canterbury. We have worked together with Wellington Rugby to allow fans at this event, following revised guideliness from the Government after Monday’s Covid-19 update.

COVID-19 Alert Level 2 Entry Requirements

Please scan in using the NZ Covid Tracer App – QR codes are available at all points of entry, and around the venue. Scanning in is mandatory.

Face masks are mandatory when attending the event and should be worn at all times, unless you are eating or drinking. No mask, no entry.

Keep a 1-metre distance from others at all times. This includes when you are entering and exiting the venue, queuing for food & beverage, entering and exiting bathrooms and when sitting in your seats.

Food and beverage is available from Aisle 24. Masks need to be worn when purchasing, and food/beverage is to be consumed in your seat. Please keep a 1m distance while queuing. Card payments only. No cash sales will be available.

Bathrooms are available at Aisle 20-21 and Aisle 25-26.

Please stay home if you feel unwell.

Parking

The mezzanine level of the Stadium car park will be open from 5.30pm at no charge for patrons attending the event. This is a one-off special offer for this event only. Normal event day car parking will resume for future events.

Fans can listen to the Sky Sport commentary feed live from their seat for free through the Sky Stadium App at this game. Download through the App Store (Apple) and Google Play (Android). Remember to bring along your headphones!

News from Sky Stadium – October 5
Following yesterday’s covid announcement, events this weekend have been impacted. The Wellington Lions v Canterbury game on Friday is now being played behind closed doors. Restricted numbers of WRFU and Sky Stadium Members will be in attendance following Alert Level 2 guidelines on groups of up to 100.

The Wellington Marathon, scheduled to run on Sunday, has been cancelled. It will now take place in mid-2022.

NZ Herald: Second cancellation for Marathon

The Home and Garden Show, initially rescheduled to 8-10 October, will now take place on the weekend of 29-31 October.

Guns N’ Roses, initially scheduled for 19 November, will now take place on Thursday 8 December 2022.

The Sky Stadium Function Centre is open for gatherings of up to 100 people.

The Wellington School of Cricket (WSC) facilities will open to members and the public on Thursday. There are changes to the way they are operating under Alert Level 2.
