Hey Peter – electorate message to Ohariu MP

A third “Hey Peter” billboard has been put on display in Johnsonville.

It’s the third in a series from People’s Power Ohariu, and it refers to Ohariu MP Peter Dunne’s support of the National Government’s Sky City Convention Centre pokies deal legislation.

The two previous billboards were about his single vote support which saw the partial sale of Mighty River Power and Meridian Energy.

People’s Power Ohariu says:

Peter Dunne has refused to “engage” with our representatives. He claims the group is not “mainstream”, even though every poll about partial state assets sales has shown majority opposition to the programme.

When asked why he had changed his vote to supporting the GCSB spying legislation when he had at first opposed the legislation, he replied when there is a willing seller and a willing buyer you can do a deal.

The annual conference of Peter Dunne’s United Future Party is being held in Johnsonville this weekend. However the MP has advised that today’s flight disruptions at Wellington Airport look likely to affect the attendance numbers.
